About NHCB - HELENA

New Horizons Music programs provide entry points to music making for adults, including those with little musical experience and those who were once active in school music programs. Many adults would like an opportunity to learn music in a group setting similar to that offered in schools. Adult musicians of any skill level are welcome to join.

The Helena group was started by Nancy Trudell in 2011 after she was encouraged to start a group "for something to do." The band has since grown from fifteen to over sixty musicians.

​

Membership is free but a $10 monthly donation is requested to help cover expenses that include insurance, facility and storage rental, music purchases and advertising, to name a few. Band members provide their own instruments and music stands for rehearsals and concerts.

Music selections include marches, medleys, show tunes, movie themes and classical favorites.
